Charcuterie class - Girdwood Brewing

Join us at Girdwood Brewing Company on Wednesday, February 26 from 6:00-8:30 for a hands-on charcuterie class with Chef Joe Macchina, where you’ll learn the art of crafting a beautiful and delicious charcuterie board to take home.

Born to Italian immigrants in New York, Chef Joe developed a deep love for food early on, growing up in his father’s Italian bakery and traveling frequently to Italy. A graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, Joe honed his craft in Sicily, working in fine dining and helping launch a restaurant before returning to the U.S.

His culinary journey took him across the country, but it was Alaska that stole his heart. Since 2005, he has worked as an executive chef, food truck entrepreneur, and culinary educator, sharing his expertise with the next generation of chefs at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and Prince William Sound College. His passion for charcuterie led him back to Italy, where he trained in the traditional methods of Abruzzo, mastering the delicate art of curing meats.

To complete the experience, Brew Engineer Brett will guide you through beer pairings, sharing insights on how different styles of beer complement cured meats, cheeses, and other charcuterie staples.
